1. Who We Are
Moxmo ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Moxmo expense tracking service available at moxmo.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Expense data: Recurring expenses you manually enter, including name, amount, category, and optional notes.
Bank connection data (Pro): If you connect a bank account via Plaid, we receive access tokens and transaction data from Plaid. We store aggregated recurring expense data derived from your transactions. We do not store your bank credentials — those are handled entirely by Plaid.
Payment information (Pro): If you subscribe to Moxmo Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We never see or store your full card number.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Moxmo service
- To power AI analysis of your expenses (expense data is sent to Anthropic for analysis — no personal identifiers are included)
- To sync and categorize recurring transactions from your connected bank accounts
- To process subscription payments and manage your billing
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
- To improve and debug the service
4. Third-Party Services
Plaid: We use Plaid to connect to your financial institutions. Plaid's privacy policy is available at plaid.com/legal.
Stripe: We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
Anthropic: AI analysis features send your expense names and amounts (not your email or bank data) to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
Resend: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure token-based authentication. However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Moxmo account.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. You may also disconnect your bank account at any time from within the app.
8. Children's Privacy
Moxmo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Your continued use of Moxmo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
